Knutsford is a tiny rural community located 7 km south of Kamloops on Highway 5A, just south of Aberdeen. It consists of a few farms and houses, and a campground as well as a town hall, popular for local meetings. Houses are mostly small and large acreages (detached only, no townhomes), interspersed among the rolling grasslands of the larger ranches in the area. There are also two mobile home parks close to Highway 5A. Almost all homes are on a septic system, not connected to the city sewage system. Water is obtained by either a drilled well on the property, or by delivery. This is a truly rural lifestyle with breathtaking scenery and a slower-paced life. There are year-round activities such as horseback riding, ATVing, snowmobiling, dirt-biking, hiking and geocaching, cross-country skiing, and fishing. The average drive from Knutsford into the Aberdeen area is about 15 minutes.
