Sahali Homes for Sale
Sahali is one of Kamloops’ most developed neighbourhoods, sitting just south of the city's downtown core. It is bordered by Peterson Creek Nature Park on the east and TRU on the west. South of Sahai is Aberdeen. Sahali can be easily divided into Lower Sahail and Upper Sahail, each subdivision offering unique qualities. As one of Kamloops’ largest neighbourhoods, there are many housing options available, from apartments to condos and townhouses to single detached homes, to luxury mansions. Sahali is also home to Berwick on the Park, a vibrant retirement community.
With Lower Sahali encompassing TRU, this area is great for purchasing investment properties as well as for family homes with university-aged students. Lower Sahali also houses the Sahali Centre Mall and many newer shopping complexes. Most amenities for neighbourhoods south of the river are located here. Lower Sahali is slightly closer to the city core, perfect for commuters. Families with school-aged children will appreciate the wide variety of education options.
Upper Sahali is mainly residential and many houses have panoramic views overlooking the city core and the mountains to the north. Because of its proximity to Peterson Creek, many residents enjoy hiking and biking from their backyard. Highway 1 and Highway 5A are also close, so getting out of the city for a quick weekend getaway is an easy drive. Upper Sahali is full of quiet, rolling streets, and cozy cul-de-sacs, with quick access to some of Kamloops’ best schools and shopping opportunities.

Historical Facts
Kamloops has always been an epicenter for business. Dating back to the fur trade and the gold rush era in the mid-1800s, the area experienced massive growth. When the settlers came, the railway expanded, and the overlander’s arrived, the city grew fast. Originally named Cumcloups, meaning ‘meeting of the waters,’ by Alexander Ross, who was part of the Astoria Fur Company, the area was known for its strong industry and became a hub. Kamloops was incorporated in 1893, and North Kamloops became a separate town in 1961. In 1967, the two were amalgamated. Kamloops is still the service center for cattle ranching and lumbering in central BC. Other significant industries in the city include livestock marketing, tourism, wood and pulp processing, and food canning and packing. The excellent location and having the Trans-Canada highway pass through the city are enormous for the tourism industry. Many people pass through Kamloops on their travels, and it’s a great place to stop for a meal or gas along the way.
